While Orangeville doesn't have any strictly vegan or vegetarian restaurants, you can find plenty of plant-based eats in town. Some eateries serve primarily veggie food and some have the vegan options marked clearly on their menus.

The Orangeville Farmers Market is also a fantastic place for vegans and those looking to increase their plant-based meals. There is one 100% vegan booth at the market and another vegan-friendly food truck.

Vegan Restaurants in Orangeville: RJ's Taste of Asia

RJ's Taste of Asia is one of the top vegan restaurants in Orangeville, Ontario. It is a modern Asian restaurant in a casual atmosphere, and it's my favourite place to go for dinner in Orangeville. Justin and I adored our meal here.

The menu is very vegan-friendly and there are many gluten-free options, too. There's a little green V beside every vegetarian selection, and it's easy to request these meals to be made vegan. The staff are very aware of what it means to be vegan. There's also a vegetarian section on the menu as well.

Definitely try the veggie lovers platter (crispy spring rolls, soft vegetable rolls and tofu fries), the curries, or the fried noodle dishes. There are two vegan desserts on the menu, too: Thai sticky rice and the ultimate brownie.

Vegan Cafes in Orangeville: Euphoria Cafe

Euphoria Cafe Orangeville is a healthy eatery and smoothie establishment with fresh and delicious offerings. Enjoy one of their fruit smoothies, sandwiches and wraps, and baked goods. They have plant-based milks available for the smoothies and their coffee/espresso drinks.

Justin and I stopped by Euphoria Cafe for lunch and ordered two smoothies and two vegan wraps (the vegan breakfast wrap and the vegan black bean wrap). There's also a vegan and gluten-free brownie in their display case. Everything was so good and I highly recommend you start your day off right with a trip here.

Vegan-Friendly Coffee Shop: Mochaberry Coffee

Mochaberry Coffee is a cafe and roastery in Orangeville, and it's a must visit place for coffee lovers. Stop by this cozy cafe for an espresso beverage, looseleaf tea drink, or one of their seasonal selections. Their baked goods and lunch options are made in-house and fresh daily. They are a long-standing local and independently owned business in town.

In addition to plant-based milks for coffee, there are a few vegan treats at the front counter. You can order cashew cookies or some Sweets From the Earth brand baked goods. Mochaberry Coffee also serves food, although we haven't tried their meals yet. You can ask for paninis with vegan cheese, and bagels with peanut butter and jam. Ask about their daily soup, it might be vegan, too.

Bluebird Cafe and Grill

Bluebird Cafe and Grill is a great choice for vegans as you can definitely find plant-based meals there. It requires some small modifications of menu items to make it work. When we dined there for lunch one day, the server was really helpful in that regard. There are several pastas that can be prepared vegan with their naturally vegan noodles, like penne and angel hair pasta. You can also order any of their vegetarian pizzas with the cheese removed as the pizza dough and sauce is vegan.

I ordered the "Angel Hair Bella", substituted with the gluten-free noodles (the server didn't think the regular pasta was vegan, so she wanted to be on the safe side! I've now confirmed that the pasta was actually vegan). The dish has roasted red pepper, Bermuda onions, sun-dried tomatoes and arugula tossed in a rosemary and garlic extra virgin olive oil.

Mill Creek Pub

Mill Creek Pub is a great spot in town for pub grub and pints. On the menu, there's a vegan burger that even comes topped with vegan mayo. It comes with a side of fries. It looks like this is the only vegan option on the menu, but I love that the dish is prepared vegan naturally without any changes.

Pia's on Broadway

Pia's on Broadway is a local favourite where the modifications for vegan dishes are clearly indicated on the menu. The veggie sandwich can be prepared vegan by substituting mayo and goats cheese with hummus. The portobello burger is vegan if you swap out the bun for sourdough bread. There are also a couple of salads that look vegan, too.

Rustik Local Bistro

Rustik Local Bistro has the vegetarian and vegan menu items clearly marked on the menu. Now, there is a veggie burger on the menu, but you will need to inquire as to whether or not the patty is vegan. It is listed as a vegetarian dish, but I'm not sure if that's due to the toppings (aioli and cheese).

The vegan dishes on the menu are both salads. The Rustik salad has mixed greens, shaved vegetables, toasted almonds and mustard vinaigrette. The protein bowl looks a little more like a full meal with spicy chick peas, shredded carrot, black beans, quinoa, edamame, spinach and tarragon vinaigrette.

Vegan Finds at the Orangeville Farmers Market

The Orangeville Farmers Market is an all-season market with a large outdoor market on Saturdays in the spring, summer and fall, as well as an intimate indoor winter market between November and April. No matter when you decide to visit, you'll find farm fresh produce, handcrafted goods, delicious preserves, sweets and baked goods, and so much more.

When I travelled to Orangeville, I visited during the winter months, so I was able to check out the Orangeville Winter Farmers Market. It's inside the Orangeville Town Hall building. While I ended up purchasing some locally made jam and some veggies, here are a couple of stalls that stood out to me.

Shine Baking Co

Shine Baking Co is a small bakeshop offering vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free delights that are suitable for those with various food allergies and dietary preferences. Once you see their desserts and sweet treats, you'll know that you'll need to try them. They all look amazing. Try their Nanaimo bars, brownies, bars, rice krispie squares and cookie sandwiches.

Shine Baking Co also offers savory meals that are ready to heat up and enjoy at home. The menu changes weekly and you can pre-order these dishes from their website for pickup at the market. When I visited the farmers market, they had a harvest grain bowl and vegetable biryani.

Rasmi's Falafel

Rasmi's Falafel isn't actually a stand inside the Orangeville Farmers Market. It's a food truck that's parked right outside the Town Hall building on a side street off Broadway. This is a fantastic spot to grab some lunch on the go. Enjoy their falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, tabouleh, rice, and more. It's one of the best vegan restaurants in Orangeville that happens to be a food truck.
