There are so many fantastic things to do in Laval, Quebec, which includes eating all of the delicious food. Laval is an amazing city for foodies and that includes the vegans and vegetarians in the crowd, of course. As someone who recently visited Laval and follows a vegan diet, I'm going to show you the best vegan restaurants in Laval.
While there aren't many entirely vegan restaurants in Laval (only two at the moment), there are some great vegan meals at many other establishments. I'm going to show you exactly what I ate during my three days in Laval so you know where to find the best vegan food, too.

Best Vegan Restaurants in Laval: LOV
If you're vegan, you can't visit Laval and not dine at LOV Restaurant. Their philosophy is to serve delicious and responsible plant-based cuisine that's good for one's health and the health of the planet. They dub their restaurant as "fast-fine" where you'll enjoy a gourmet meal in a radiant atmosphere. LOV has three vegan restaurants in Laval, Montreal and Brossard.

I first dined at LOV in Montreal and couldn't wait to return to their restaurant in Laval. The menu features a variety of international cuisines across each course, including locally-inspired dishes. Starters include unique dishes like plant-based halloumi cheese, beet tartare and LOV vegan calamari.

Their main courses include vibrant bowls, salads, burgers, curry and risotto. You can always add a side dish of truffle fries, Brussel sprouts or kimchi fries, among others. There are also several desserts if you're craving something sweet, such as a vegan crème brûlée.

I started with the dumplings (7 Mushroom and vegetable fried dumplings served with an almond butter kimchi sauce) and ordered the tacos as my main course (three tacos with breaded tofu, brunoise of grilled vegetables, pickled chilies and onions, vegan sour cream, housemade avo-jalapeño sauce, micro cilantro.)
LOV also has a separate brunch menu on weekends from 10am to 3pm. Also, don't miss their innovative cocktail menu. They also serve beer and wine, too (all vegan, naturally!).
Vegan Restaurants in Laval: Copper Branch

Copper Branch is a chain of vegan restaurants that started in Quebec and have since expanded to Ontario, Alberta, Nashville and Melbourne, Australia. They serve quality meals made from whole foods with a focus on sustainability. Whether it's comfort food, lighter fare, power bowls, burgers or smoothies, there will be something that pleases every palette on their menu.

There are an assortment of dishes on this healthy fast food restaurant. In Laval, Copper Branch is located inside the food court of a shopping mall, and you'll receive your order pretty quickly. You can order your food as takeout or dine inside the food court.
I have tried several meals by Copper Branch both at home and while traveling. Some of my favorites over the years are the Asian Fusion bowl, the Smoked Tempeh sandwich, General Tao Bao Buns, Burrito Branchero, and their poutine. Copper Branch is one of the best vegan restaurants in Laval if you're looking for fast, casual dining.
Vegan-Friendly Restaurant in Laval: Mandy's

Mandy's Gourmet Salads is an awesome vegan-friendly restaurant in Laval at Centropolis. Mandy's has humble beginnings as two sisters opened a create-your-own salad bar at the back of a clothing store in 2004. Nowadays, Mandy's has eight locations in Quebec and three in Toronto, and five of their salad dressings are on grocery store shelves across Canada.
Mandy's is a great lunch spot in the heart of Laval. The vegan options on the menu are all labeled with a little leaf. For vegan offerings, try the tofu teriyaki salad, crunchy sesame salad, tofu teriyaki bowl, veggie protein power bowl, or their refreshing smoothies. I ordered the tofu teriyaki bowl and a vegan cookie - both were delicious.
Gatto Matto

Gatto Matto describes themselves as an avant-garde Italian restaurant featuring cuisine developed by their talented multi-dimensional chef. The decor is exquisite and looks straight out of a stylish Instagram feed. Choose from Italian favourites like pizza and pasta, as well as a dynamic wine list. This is a great spot for a romantic dinner or a girls night out with your gal pals.

There aren't too many vegan items on the menu, though your server will be more than happy to assist or customize dishes. You can order a vegan pizza without the cheese, a pasta pomodoro using gluten-free penne, and a side of spicy broccolini. There are some other sides that are vegan, like olives, fries, and sauteed mushrooms. The cauliflower antipasti can also be requested as vegan.

I ordered the pasta pomodoro and the spicy broccolini. The broccolini was so flavorful, I really loved this dish. The pasta meal was relatively basic and nothing special - the sauce was one that they usually use on the gnocchi (which unfortunately wasn't vegan), so it was nice, but could have definitely been elevated with some vegan cheese or additional spices/toppings.
Ottavio

Ottavio is an Italian restaurant featuring authentic thin crust pizza, savory gourmet pasta and other tempting side dishes created using the freshest ingredients. They have four restaurants in Quebec, including their establishment in Laval.
This is a great choice for those following vegan or gluten-free diets. Ottavio has both a gluten-free pizza dough and a vegan cheese substitute. Check out their separate vegan menu.

There are five different kinds of vegan pizza, three vegan pastas, three vegan salads, and four starters including vegan arancini. I ordered the Opa vegan pizza and it had crispy thin crust and flavorful vegan toppings like vegan feta and pesto sauce.
Boulangerie La Bête à Pain

For breakfast, start your day off right at Boulangerie La Bête à Pain. La Bete a Pain is a bakery and restaurant with three locations, with one of them in Laval. Stop by for a pastry or fresh bread. The concept for La Bete a Pain is a restaurant, pastry shop, bakery, and takeaway restaurant all in one. While it seemed that the majority of early morning visitors ordered fresh bread, pastries and coffee for takeaway, I suggest dining in the restaurant if you have the opportunity.

You can dine here for breakfast or for lunch. I had a light breakfast of baguette with jam, as well as their mouthwatering breakfast potatoes. The coffee here is exceptional, too. If you're visiting La Bete a Pain for lunch, be sure to try the vegan buddha bowl.
Vegan Dessert in Laval: Mr. Puffs

Got a sweet tooth? Don't miss stopping by Mr. Puffs! This popular cafe features Greek-style doughnut puffs that are always made fresh before your eyes. The dough is made without any dairy products, they are egg-free, peanut-free, soy-free and contain no preservatives. They're light, fluffy and yummy.

The following puffs glazes are vegan-friendly: sugar and cinnamon, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, WOWButter and strawberry, blueberry or raspberry. It's really easy to order because the vegan flavors are always listed. I chose the apple cinnamon and the dark chocolate varieties. I also ordered an oat milk iced coffee there, too.

Where to Stay in Laval: Grand Times Hotel

The Grand Times Hotel Centropolis in Laval is one of the best places to stay in the city. I spent three nights at this modern and luxurious property and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. These hotels are 100% Quebec-owned, and the hotels are furnished and serviced by local industries and individuals. You can feel good about your dollars staying within the community.

My corner room had windows wrapping around the suite, allowing for sweeping views and light to enter the room. Enjoy the flatscreen TV, high speed Wi-Fi, a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker), a desk, and a living space with a couch. The spacious room has an open concept feel, and I had a restful sleep every night.
