There's so much amazing vegan food in Saskatoon! While there aren't many spots in town that are 100% plant-based, there are so many vegan-friendly restaurants in Saskatoon with innovative and incredible eats. This vegan Saskatoon guide will outline the best restaurants, and will show you why dining out is one of the best things to do in Saskatoon.
Be sure to add all of these vegan restaurants in Saskatoon to your list, whether you're visiting from out of town or you're a local. As most of these spots serve both plant-based and animal products, there's something for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores. But, you might be able to convince everyone to try the vegan dish on the menu. Everything I sampled was so yummy.

Vegan Saskatoon: Drift Cafe
After arriving at the airport in Saskatoon, my first stop was Drift Cafe for some much needed caffeine. There's a wide variety of plant-based milks, including one that our server recommended, macadamia nut milk. A vanilla latte with macadamia milk is heavenly. So, if you're visiting Drift Cafe for some coffee, I suggest ordering it with macadamia milk.
Drift is a lovely little spot inside a multi-level building, each level with its own vibe. The street level cafe has its own unique style, with bicycle spokes on the walls, colourful tiles on the staircase, and lush greenery in every nook. The upstairs lounge is bright and airy that they describe as an oasis, making you feel like you're on vacation. Lastly, there's a sunny outdoor rooftop patio.

It's easy to navigate the menu as a vegan as everything is clearly marked. The servers are also really knowledgeable in what can be made plant-based or not. I ordered the Vegan Drift Burger (black bean and potato patty, jalapeno corn relish, red onion, arugula, zesty burger sauce on a potato bun served with chips). It's delicious, especially the patty itself and that jalapeno corn relish.
Also on the menu, you can order veggie hotdogs, the Vegan Power Bowl, the Maple Ginger Bowl, and a poutine with mushroom gravy (no cheese).
Odd Couple
Odd Couple is a family owned and operated restaurant, which was "born out of the desire to recreate Canadian-Asian favourites in a fun, thoughtful expression of the union between East and West". The meals are inspired by Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisines. You'll also find Canadian dishes with an Asian twist.
The restaurant is super vegan-friendly, and also has the gluten-free menu items marked on the menu. I had the opportunity to try the Vegan Spring Rolls (taro root, carrot, black fungus, onion, rice paper, vegan garlic chili vinaigrette), Vegan Kung Pao Two Ways (tofu and fried cauliflower wings), and Ginger Shiitake Mushroom (mushroom deep fried with onion, bean sprouts, bell peppers and ginger dark soy).
More vegan menu items include salad rolls with jicama tofu, stir-fry garlic bok choi, vegan noodle soup, five spiced tofu pad Thai, lime green curry with cauliflower, and tofu tomato curry. The food here is outstanding. It's fresh, homemade, and unlike anything I've ever tried. After dining here on my first evening in Saskatoon, I knew that this meal would be difficult to top. This is one of the best vegan restaurants in Saskatoon.
Vegan Breakfast in Saskatoon: Poached Breakfast Bistro
Poached is a delightful breakfast spot in downtown Saskatoon. There's a large selection with something for every taste, which includes those following a vegan diet. Poached does not take any reservations and seating is first come, first serve. It is a popular spot, but it's worth the wait!
For coffee, Poached has soy milk, almond milk, and oat milk. There are a few omelettes on the menu and you can substitute the egg for a vegan chickpea omelette. I ordered the roasted asparagus and baby potato chickpea omelette, served with vegan bread. Along with my coffee, it was a fantastic way to start the day.
It can be difficult to find a breakfast or brunch restaurant that caters to vegans so well. The vegan omelette is pretty innovative. I'm used to eating fruit and toast for breakfast when I'm travelling, so Poached was such a treat. It's one of the best vegan Saskatoon restaurants for this reason.
Picnic Lunch with Style and Graze

Do you want to treat yourself to one of the most beautiful lunch boxes ever? Not only is it pretty, but it's also super yummy. There are all kinds of surprises in Style and Graze boxes with an emphasis on local products. When eating your way through one of these creations, you'll be surprised by the amount of tasty goods and treats that are packed into them.
There is a vegetarian box on their website that can be made vegan. Specify your dietary restrictions on checkout. I had all sorts of treats in mine: vegan cheese, hummus, pickles, fruit, edible flowers, dried fruit shaped like flowers, and even desserts. Take your Style and Graze grazing box to the park, conservation area, or anywhere else you'd like to have a picnic.
Thirteen Pies Pizza and Bar
Thirteen Pies Pizza and Bar offers Brooklyn style pizza at a "cocktail forward bar". This place is extremely popular. There was only seating at the bar when we arrived, which was totally fine. I can see why it is so popular - the pizza is one of the best in town. In addition to cocktails, they have an extensive beer and wine list. And I can also get behind any restaurant that has Back to the Future playing on the big screen.
While there aren't any vegan pizzas on the menu, they have vegan cheese and toppings. I decided to create my own vegan pizza with onions, roasted garlic and jalapenos. While the toppings and the vegan cheese tasted great on this pizza, the crust is exceptional. You don't need to travel to New York City for an amazing pizza. It's right here in Saskatoon.
Vegan Mexican Food at Las Palapas

Las Palapas is a Mexican restaurant in Saskatoon, and I highly recommend checking it out when you're exploring the Broadway District. The tropical vibes extend to the food at the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. Sitting outside on their patio, I felt like I was in Mexico or the Caribbean! The lush greenery and colourful murals on the patio are a nice touch.
I started with a Saskatoon berry mojito for a cocktail with a local twist. We started with the guacamole, which was delicious, and then I ordered the garbanzo adobo burrito for my meal. There are a few vegan items on the menu aside from the chickpea adobo, including the jackfruit and the mushrooms. You can get these prepared as a burrito, tacos, enchiladas or inside a bowl.
This is one of the best vegan restaurants in Saskatoon. There are a variety of options so you can visit again and again, trying something new each time you visit. The food is fresh and flavourful, and the service is excellent.
Vegan Saskatoon: Thrive Juice Company

One of the only 100% vegan restaurants in Saskatoon is Thrive Juice Company. They have a large menu of cold pressed juices and fresh fruit smoothies. While I didn't dine here, there is also a sizeable vegan food menu. You can choose from salads, bowls, snacks, smoothie bowls, and even a couple of baked goods.
I ordered the tropical pitaya smoothie with pink dragonfruit, mango, pineapple and more. I love that everything on the menu, food and drinks, is all vegan. This is one of the best places in this vegan Saskatoon guide because everything is plant-based, fresh, and yummy.
Primal: Vegan-Friendly Italian Restaurant in Saskatoon

Primal is an Italian and handmade pasta restaurant that uses Saskatchewan heritage grains. Thankfully, all of their pasta is prepared without egg, making it 100% vegan. While they have pizza on the menu for takeout only (no vegan cheese, but a wide variety of veggie toppings), I highly recommend trying the pasta.
The kale & cashew pesto taglierini with lemon is 100% vegan without any modifications. It's creamy, hearty, and delightful. It is possible to sub gluten-free penne for any of the meals, too. There are a couple of appetizers and sides that are vegan, though I found the pasta to be really filling.
The Karma Conscious Cafe and Eatery
The Karma Conscious Cafe & Eatery is a vegan-friendly restaurant in Saskatoon that believes in doing good for the community. Not only do they provide high quality food and drink, but they also support local charities in Saskatoon.
They have a large menu of caffeinated beverages, including specialty drinks with Vietnamese coffee beans. My Americano with oat milk was a great way to start the day. I ordered a smoothie bowl for breakfast with acai berries, topped with oats and chopped nuts. If you are looking for a healthy way to start the day, head over to the Karma Cafe.
Stoked Kitchen + Bar

Stoked Kitchen + Bar is an interesting place to go for dinner. Sports fans will love this one as there are so many screens with sporting events. I don't think I've seen that many TVs in one place in my life! It's also attached to an entertainment centre with video games, go karts, and bowling.
For dinner, there are vegetarian items on the menu and other meals that can be veganized. For instance, you can order the hummus, the garden bento box, veggie sushi, the "Stoked on Plants" burger, or the lentil nut loaf. Please note that the pizza cannot be made vegan, even though they have vegan cheese. Stoked Kitchen + Bar, please change your dough recipe so vegans can enjoy your pizza, too!
I decided on the vegan ramen bowl (remove the tamari egg and add tofu) and it was one of my favourite ramen bowls ever! The miso mushroom broth was so flavourful and all of the toppings worked so well together.
Vegan Saskatoon: Hometown Diner
Looking for another great breakfast spot in Saskatoon? Head straight to the Hometown Diner. It's rare to find so many good spots for a vegan breakfast, but Saskatoon continued to impress. Hometown Diner is a modern diner with a light and airy decor. Each dish is made from scratch using fresh ingredients.
There are several items on the menu that are vegetarian and vegan. I decided to get the avocado toast without an egg, adding their perfectly seasoned potatoes on the side. The staff is so warm and friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again in the future.
Good Earth Coffeehouse

Good Earth Coffeehouse is a Canadian coffeehouse chain, mostly on the west coast. Every location has different menu items, and they label everything that's vegan quite well. At the Saskatoon location, there is a vegan muffin (Black Forest Muffin) that I paired with an Americano for breakfast.
Darkside Donuts

Darkside Donuts is a vegan-friendly donut shop in Saskatoon. I discovered that they had several varieties of vegan doughnuts, including apple fritter, coconut mojito, raspberry espresso, and chocolate dip. I loved seeing that nearly half of their display was filled with vegan donuts. Best donuts in Saskatoon? Looks like it to me!
River Landing Snacks for Dole Whip

River Landing Snacks is a snack hut on the South Saskatchewan River where you can get ice cream, treats and more. They have Dole Whip in flavours that alternate each week. When I visited, they had the watermelon lemon combination, which was so refreshing on a hot day. They're always updating their social media with the latest Dole Whip flavour combos.
Bonus: Saskatoon VegFest
Saskatoon VegFest is an annual celebration of vegan living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Sadly, I won't be in the area for this year's VegFest at the end of August, but perhaps you will be able to partake in the festivities. There are vendors, non-profits, performers and speakers, as well as a vegan BBQ.
