Video of Dundas, Ontario – My Hometown

posted in: Blog, Canada, Ontario, Personal, Video | 15

Justin and I entered a contest through Fairmont Hotels last year called My Destination Story (#MyDestinationStory). The contest called for video entries of any place in the world that could be a place for adventure, an off the beaten path discovery, or simply your favorite destination. We created this video together about my hometown in Dundas, Ontario, Canada and were semi-finalist winners of the #MyDestinationStory contest. This video of Dundas shows all of my favourite spots in town that evoke personal memories – Webster’s Falls, the Dundas Valley Conservation Area, the quaint downtown core, the butterfly garden, the weekly market, the Cactus Festival, and the peak at the top of the escarpment where you can view the entire town. Someday I’m sure I’ll write about all of these places in more detail. For now, please enjoy our video of Dundas, Ontario. Even though I love to travel all over the place and I no longer live there anymore, Dundas will always be my favourite place.

What a great video! I love Dundas. We live about 40 minutes from there and I bring the kids there in the Summer to see the Falls:)

EXCELLENT VIDEO! This is exactly what I love about people like you that can recognize the beauty in where they live. Traveling is great, but being a local tourist in your own town is even better. And congrats on being a semi finalist!

Thank you so much, Angie 🙂 I love traveling, but I can’t be traveling all the time…so it’s great to fully appreciate your surroundings all the time. There are always wonderful places to explore right in your own backyard.

Awesome video Lauren! I really enjoyed it. Embracing where you are from is a great idea and I wish more people would do it! Having a Canadian boyfriend has really helped me see my home country of England (and Europe as a whole) in a different and more appreciative light.

Thank you so much – that’s awesome that you’ve been able to explore more of England thru showing your Canadian boyfriend around! Makes you see it all in a new light I think! 🙂
