Marival Armony Luxury Resort

In this travel blog post, I’m going to highlight our amazing three night vacation at Marival Armony Luxury Resort & Suites. I’ll give you a tour of our room, a one bedroom suite. I’ll showcase all of the outdoor amenities and activities, the spa, the restaurants, and some unmissable experiences for a romantic holiday. We visited for Justin’s birthday and it was one of our most memorable birthday trips.

Marival Armony Luxury Resort & Suites: Bahia Suite, One Bedroom

Marival Armony Luxury Resort & Suites - One bedroom suite

First of all, I’ll take you on a tour of our room at Marival Armony Luxury Resort & Suites. We stayed in a one bedroom Bahia suite with ocean views from our balcony. The comfortable rooms are a main feature of this resort, and I feel as though this hotel suite is even bigger than our entire old apartment!

When you walk into the one bedroom suite, you’ll see a little hallway with a full length mirror and a side table to set down your belongings. There’s a bathroom with a toilet, shower and sink to your left. This isn’t even the main bathroom, which is attached to the bedroom. Yes, the one bedroom suite has two bathrooms.

In the main room, there’s a long dining room that’s perfect for entertaining guests. This is also where you’ll find a little basket of snacks, a bottle of wine, a Nespresso machine with pods, and a mini fridge with beer and water. There’s also a durable beach bag that you can borrow throughout the length of your stay.

There’s a king-sized bed with a TV in the bedroom. Also, there’s an additional flatscreen TV and couches in the dining area. To be honest, we never turned on the TV once during our stay, but the option is there. There are convenient outlets and USB outlets on either side of the bed for charging your phones. Plus, there is a large wardrobe to store your clothes, bathrobes and slippers to borrow, an an in-room safe.

The bathroom is incredibly spacious with a shower, toilet, vanity with two sinks, hair dryer, make-up mirror, and bathtub. The bathtub has scented candles all around it, so you can enjoy a relaxing soak in a tranquil atmosphere. There are high-end bath products, so there’s no need to bring any of your own from home.

The best part of this suite is the balcony. There are two entrances, one from the living room and one from the bedroom. The balcony itself is huge. There’s a little sofa on one side of it, and another table and chairs at the other side. It’s surrounded by greenery so the balcony feels very private. The panoramic scenery from the balcony overlooking the pools and the ocean is magnificent.

Things to Do at Marival Armony Luxury Resort

Marival Armony All inclusive adults only resort

Marival Armony Punta Mita is an exclusive property where you’ll find the perfect balance of comfort, nature, and wellness. There are many enchanting outdoor spaces around the property, as well as activities that will fill your days with enjoyment and bliss.

Marival Armony Foyer
Marival Armony Foyer

First, the main foyer and entranceway is where you’ll be greeted when you arrive. You may notice a thatched roof with a hole in the middle. This pays homage to the Hidden Beach at the Marietas Islands, a famous cove and natural feature. The Marietas Islands aren’t too far from Marival Armony and you can spot the islands across Banderas Bay from the resort itself.

The design of the resort is very thoughtful and aimed for the ultimate guest experience. There are numerous small, secluded spaces where you can spend time with your partner or travel buddies. These might be collections of seats by a fire pit or even smaller swimming pools around the resort.

Flowers at the resort
Lush greenery at the resort

There’s also a beautiful fountain that runs from the top of the resort and down the middle of it. Everywhere you go, you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery, tropical plants and flowers.

Swimming Pools

Infinity pool Marival Armony Resort

There are several swimming pools at Marival Armony, making this one of the best all-inclusive resorts in Punta Mita for that reason alone. The main infinity pool is the most popular swimming pool. There’s a swim-up bar, amazing views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and it’s the best place to watch the sunset. Sometimes there are pool games or water aerobics happening here, but most of the time, there’s a relaxed ambiance with quiet music filling the air.

At the main infinity pool, Drops is the swim-up pool bar where the bartenders can create a tropical concoction from their menu or any drink that you’d like. Enjoy your drinks while lazing about the pool. You can also order drinks from any of the servers that make regular trips around the pool area.

There’s a second swimming pool next to the main infinity pool. This is another smaller infinity pool that’s less crowded and also offers ocean views. This was my favourite place to relax and read a book. It’s easier to find a lounger chair here, and it’s usually quieter, too.

There is a third swimming pool that’s even quieter than the first two. Many people don’t even know that this pool exists because it’s behind lots of lush greenery and around a corner. There’s ample seating and loungers here that likely never fill up, and the pool is quite large, too.

For an additional two swimming pools, venture over towards the spa area. Walk down some steps and behind one of the hotel buildings. You’ll see two swimming pools opposite one another just below the building. For those staying in that building, you’ll likely have access to your own “private” pool, but these swimming areas are open to all. I love the seating area here as it’s very secluded and overlooks a tropical forest.

Wellness & Fitness Activities

Armony sign

If you’ve come to Marival Armony for wellness activities, you’re in luck. Available daily at 9:30am, you can take part in a yoga, stretching or tai chi class. Justin and I participated in a stretching class by the swimming pool that was the perfect start to the day.

There are other wellness classes like sound healing (a meditation class) and Watsu, a form of Shiatsu massage that takes place in the water. There’s also a fitness center located inside the spa with cardio and weight machines.

Watersports

Watersports at the resort

Love watersports? You get free access to watersports equipment during your stay at Marival Armony. You can rent a paddle board, kayak, body board, or the Hobie Cat 13. There’s also a variety of water activities you can try for an additional charge, including scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, kiteboarding and wakeboarding.

Parties at Marival Armony

There are several events throughout the week at Marival Armony. First, the Armony Vibes party happens every Friday from 8:00pm to 1:00am. There’s a VIP cocktail party with mixologists, a live DJ, and dancers with colourful costumes and dazzling lights. This usually takes place outdoors, but it was held inside at Insu when we visited due to a thunderstorm.

Mita Beats is a pool party that takes place on Saturdays from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. There’s a live DJ and show that takes place at the infinity pool. Every Wednesday night at Insu Sky Bar, there’s a neon glow party called Flow With the Glow.

The Beach at Marival Armony

Destiladeras Beach on Banderas Bay

Marival Armony is steps from Destiladeras Beach on Banderas Bay. Punta Mita and Riviera Nayarit are famous for their expansive white sand beaches. Typically, there are rows of loungers and chairs along this pristine stretch of beach, and you can swim in the twinkling turquoise waters. The resort is perched up on a cliff, so you need to walk down a small set of stairs down to the beach.

Destiladeras Beach on Banderas Bay

Unfortunately for us, we visited during a stormy season where the tide was extremely high. For this reason, the waters nearly came all the way up to the cliffs and the beach was underwater. This only happens for a few weeks a year, typically in September and October. If you love spending time on the beach, I would avoid booking your trip during these two months to be on the safe side.

Destiladeras Beach on Banderas Bay

With that said, I loved admiring the crashing ocean waves and sea views from up above. The panoramic scenery of the cliffs and the ocean are breathtaking, and I’ll never grow tired of hearing the soothing sounds of the waves. This is something you can always enjoy at Marival Armony.

Floating Breakfast at Marival Armony Resort

Floating Breakfast in Mexico at Jacuzzi Cañada

One of the most special and unique experiences you can have at Marival Armony Punta de Mita is a floating breakfast. I thought this was something you could only try in faraway destinations like Bali. Well, as it turns out, you can have a floating breakfast in Mexico at Marival Armony!

The Jacuzzi Cañada is a jacuzzi infinity pool reserved for VIP guests where you’ll need to book a cabana in advance. For the floating breakfast, you have this entire area all to yourselves, including the cabanas and the infinity pool. We floated around and soaked up all of the amazing scenery. This is a very magical place that becomes even more magical with the floating breakfast.

Then, our breakfast arrived on a floating platter. There was coffee with soy milk, green juice, vegan tacos, little pancakes with maple syrup, fresh fruit and more. If you have any dietary preferences or allergies, be sure to make the staff aware of this. They created an incredible vegan floating breakfast that was one of the best breakfasts I’d had in a long time.

Melange World Spa: International Spa Experiences

Mélange World Spa

This is one of the most unique spas at a resort that I’ve ever seen! The Mélange World Spa offers specialized spa therapies and treatments from around the world. Each themed room, appropriately named for the country or region (Japan, Italy, or Bali, for example) is paired with traditional treatments and spa services pertaining to that country or culture.

Mélange World Spa
Mélange World Spa

For instance, in the Japan room, you can receive a Shiatsu massage and a Kobido Facial Massage. The Mexico spa treatment room utilizes the hydrating and nourishing powers of blue agave and aloe vera. In Bali, enjoy the techniques of a Balinese massage and the use of seven different essential oils for mental relaxation.

Melange World Spa

Melange World Spa has a full menu of massages, facials, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. Every trip to the spa begins with a trip to the spa jacuzzi area. There’s a hot jacuzzi tub, a cold plunge pool, beautiful gardens, and a relaxation area. It’s very therapeutic to alternate between the hot and cold pools.

Justin and I enjoyed two spa treatments during our stay. First, we went for the Spa Romance couples experience. Side by side, we enjoyed aromatherapy massages, seaweed facials, and a hydrotherapy bath with essential oils. They also provided sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries. Our second trip to the spa was for anti-aging facials, which left our faces feeling soft and radiant. We adored the unique spa experiences and couldn’t get enough of them!

Marival Armony: Restaurants, Dining and Drinks

Blue Hawaiian cocktail

Marival Armony has several restaurants and dining experiences with something for every taste and preference. There are four restaurants and four bars serving national and international cuisine, as well as a variety of cocktails and beverages.

Make sure you enjoy the specialty restaurants in addition to the buffet and the pool bar offerings. The chefs go above and beyond to create very special dinners and a large selection of dishes. It’s also possible to order room service, though we didn’t end up taking advantage of this option during our trip.

The resort is very vegetarian-friendly, and many of the vegetarian dishes can be adapted to be vegan. If there aren’t any vegan options on the menu, the chef will create something special for you. They don’t mind taking special requests, especially at the a la carte restaurants. Here’s where we dined during our stay at Marival Armony.

La Brise

La Brise

La Brise is the main buffet at Marival Armony. We dined here daily for breakfast, once for lunch, and once for dinner. The buffet is expansive with your continental breakfast favourites and Mexican specialties. For instance, there is a taco station for breakfast, which includes vegan options like cactus tacos.

Breakfast at La Brise
Lunch at La Brise

For lunch, I loved the wide variety of salads and fruits always available. There is also a pasta station where you can select the noodle, sauce, and vegetables that you’d like. The staff will make your pasta before your eyes.

When we arrived, there was a seafood buffet happening for dinner. As I don’t eat seafood, the chef went above and beyond to create some special dishes for me. I had a vegetable soup and a portobello mushroom with couscous and veggies. There were also several salads that were already vegan in the buffet area, too.

Divum

Divum restaurant

Divum is a specialty restaurant at Marival Armony, next to the Insu sky rooftop lounge. It’s a high end restaurant with chef-inspired dishes, overlooking the lush forest and mountains up on the fourth floor. These exceptional views definitely add to the overall experience. As for the food, the meals are prepared using the flavours and gastronomic culture of the region.

Happy birthday Justin

To drink, I had a passionfruit margarita, which was tropical and refreshing. For my four course meal, I started with a tostada topped with mushrooms, a salad with grilled pineapple, vegetable rollups on tomato sauce, and a lime sorbet for dessert.

The Vent

Destiladeras Beach on Banderas Bay

We had a VIP lunch at The Vent, a thatched-roof, clifftop restaurant overlooking Banderas Bay. Every meal starts with freshly made pico de gallo, guacamole and chips.

Then, I enjoyed a fresh salad with beets and strawberries. For my main course, I ordered veggie tacos, which were full of tasty veggies (but I would have appreciated some beans or a protein with this one).

Romantic Dinner at Essence

Romantic dinner at Essence, Punta Mita Mexico

At Essence, Justin and I had our most memorable meal of all. It was a private romantic dinner outside in the garden. There were rose petals scattered on the ground leading up to the table and on top of the table itself.

There was romantic lighting and tiki torches all around. The staff placed a framed photo of us on the table. Plus, it was just for the two of us! This was such a special experience.

For dinner, the chef created a five course vegan meal. I had a vegan “ceviche” tostada, a salad with grilled pineapple and fresh coconut, a broccoli soup with crispy onions, stuffed zucchini, and a very special dessert – a flaky pastry filled with cream and topped with fresh fruit.

Blend

Blend coffee beer and wine

Blend is one of the bars at Marival Armony with ample seating, beer, cocktails and coffee. I loved going here for iced coffee, made with soy milk. I wish Blend opened earlier in the morning as it was one of my favourite spots, although it’s easy to get rich coffee at La Brise for breakfast.

Iced coffees at Blend

Blend was my favourite coffee shop at the resort. Also, coffee lovers, you will adore the coffee at Marival Armony. It’s so much better than any other coffee that I’ve had at any all-inclusive resort…ever!

Marieta Islands and Hidden Beach

Marieta Islands

Take a day trip to Marieta Islands and the Hidden Beach for an unforgettable day. The Marieta Islands are very close to Marival Armony, and you can even see them from the resort itself. There’s a maximum capacity of 15 people on this small group tour. In fact, access to the Hidden Beach is protected and limited to a set number of visitors per day to protect the wildlife at the national park.

While you’ll only be able to spend 15-20 minutes at the Hidden Beach (time is limited by the national park), it’s a once in a lifetime experience. You’ll also be able to go snorkeling and enjoy some other beautiful regions around the Marietas Islands on this trip. Book your tour here.

Rhythms of the Night Cruise and Dinner Show

Rhythms of the Night is the number one activity on the list of things to do in Puerto Vallarta. It’s an evening experience that you won’t soon forget! It all starts on a boat cruise at sunset through the Bay of Banderas. Then, you’ll be welcomed onto the beach for an authentic dinner beneath the stars as you watch the Rhythms of the Night performance. Day Trip to Yelapa and Majahuitas

From Puerto Vallarta, you’ll take a boat cruise to the brilliant coves of Yelapa and Majahuitas. Admire the scenery and you might be able to spot some dolphins and whales. Go snorkeling at the Majahuitas Cove for the chance to see amazing marine wildlife. Then, you’ll be able to enjoy the breathtaking Yelapa beach and its hidden waterfall. Book your tour here. Please note that this trip departs from Puerto Vallarta.

Day Trip to Sayulita

Sayulita is about a 35 minute drive from the resort and Punta Mita. It’s a great little spot to spend the day from what I heard from friends. You can enjoy the beach, go surfing, wander around the little restaurants and cafes, and more. You can take a taxi to Sayulita from the resort. It’s also possible to book a day trip tour to San Pancho and Sayulita, though this tour departs from Puerto Vallarta.

There are some fun activities and excursions to experience in Sayulita. For instance, you can go zip lining with a beautiful ocean view. Sayulita is also famous as a surfing destination. You can take private surf lessons in Sayulita, which is a fantastic place to learn the sport.
