Brockville Christmas Events You Need to Experience

Brockville is a city in the Thousand Islands region with many festive events happening during the holidays. There are so many Brockville Christmas events that you need to check out, whether you're local to the area or looking for new magical places in Ontario to visit. You could also easily add this onto a trip to Ottawa for the Christmas events.

I travelled to Brockville to check out the Miracle on King Street holiday event in the downtown area. King Street is beautifully decorated during the holidays with twinkling lights, and the shops have magnificent displays in their windows. I'm going to share some more details about the Miracle on King Street event, as well as every other holiday event that's taking place in Brockville this season.

Brockville Christmas Events: Miracle on King Street

Miracle on King Street is the most magical event of the year to celebrate the holidays in Brockville! Located on King Street in downtown Brockville, it's a wonderful way to ring in the Christmas season.

This free event takes place on November 16th from 10am to 4pm. The downtown core is decorated with Christmas lights and Christmas trees, and the shops decorate their storefront windows with seasonal decor.

In addition to the restaurants and cafes in town, there are a few food trucks lining King Street. One of the most popular food trucks is Beavertails. Try this classic Canadian treat - fried dough with your favourite toppings! After you've sampled some goodies from the food trucks, find the free hot cocoa bar on King Street to stay nice and warm with a sweet beverage.

Santa Claus also makes an appearance, so be prepared to ask him if you've made the nice list this year and take some photos. There's also a letter writing to Santa workshop so you can let him know everything you'd like for Christmas this year.

Miracle on King Street also features a vendor's market with local handmade wares. You can find some unique gifts and feel good about shopping local. As you walk around King Street, you can listen to Christmas carolers and live entertainment performed by local artists. All in all, Miracle on King Street is a fabulous Christmas event in Brockville that I highly recommend checking out.

This year, there are some new activities and attractions that are part of the festive fun. First, the Brockville Railway Tunnel is open and lit with red and green lights. There are also free swing dance lessons by Riverside Swing, the ugly sweater decorating contest, a floral popup shop, create your own holiday centrepiece arrangement for free and so much more.

Tourism Kingston will have its own section at the Miracle on King Street event called Flannel & Frost. There's a festive lounge featuring 1000 Islands Brewery, Arbru, and Drinks in Tow. Pick up a cup of complimentary hot chocolate. Capture the moment in the photo booth featuring Primrose & Willow designs. There's also a cozy firepit and s'mores, a chili cookoff, and many more activities.

Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade

The Brockville Santa Claus Parade is an annual Christmas event in Brockville. This year, it takes place on November 16th at 4:30pm downtown Brockville. The parade starts on North Augusta Road at Pearl Steet, continues along King Street, and ends at Rotary Park.

There are Christmas floats, musicians, costumed characters, and of course, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance. This year's theme is "Christmas Fun and Games" and they're anticipating up to 100 floats and entries this year.

Brockville Christmas: River of Lights

Brockville's River of Lights begins on November 30th, 2024, following the Santa Claus Parade. From King Street, drive down to Blockhouse Island to witness a holiday lights display with thousands of sparkling lights set to music. Every night, from November 25th until January 2nd (weather permitting), you can enjoy this fun, free, family-friendly spectacle.

The show is approximately 40 minutes long and you can enjoy it from the comfort of your car. Drive through this illuminated lights show and set your car radio to the correct frequency to hear the holiday music. There's a full light and sound show between 6pm and 10pm, and lights only from 5pm to 6pm and 10pm to 11pm. It's one of the best Brockville Christmas events, and it's not to be missed.

Brockville Christmas Market

The Brockville Christmas Market is a free outdoor event taking place at the Brockville Shopping Centre. There are 40 vendors with handmade gifts, food, mulled wine and more. There's also live entertainment and activities, too.

Be sure to bring non-perishable food to donate to the Brockville and Area Food Bank. The Brockville Christmas Market happens on November 16th and 17th from 10am to 3pm.

Christmas Workshops at Wild Little Roses

Wild Little Roses is a beautiful flower shop in downtown Brockville. You'll find artfully crafted bouquets, whimsical centerpieces, floral arrangements, houseplants, and unique gifts throughout the shop. For the holiday season, Wild Little Roses has a series of creative workshops where you can make your own festive creation for your home.

Throughout November and December, sign up for one of Wild Little Roses' holiday workshops. You can make your own Christmas wreaths (winter elegance wreath, Christmas wreath, or country Christmas wreath) or a holiday table centerpiece for the season.

At the workshops, you'll receive all of the materials required to make your wreath or centerpiece. Expert instructors will assist you with step-by-step guidance. It's a warm and welcoming environment with holiday music and yummy drinks. Bring your bestie or a family member for a memorable and fun experience.

Decorated Christmas Windows in Brockville

The businesses in downtown Brockville on King Street are all decked out for the holidays. They each feature unique Christmas storefront windows with twinkling decorations. You'll see some of their products surrounded by Christmas trees, fireplaces with stockings, snowmen, and so much more.

Go for a walk up and down King Street to view these brightly decorated windows, complete with Christmas lights and more. Then, pop into the shops to get some of your holiday shopping done. It's a win-win!

Clow's Christmas Trail

Clow's Christmas Trail is a 1.5km winter wonderland in the countryside, and it's one of the best Christmas trails in Ontario. The holiday decorations are curated by one family who hopes to spread Christmas cheer to everyone.

They've created many beautiful and festive displays along a lit path, including the Nativity Scene, winter sports lane, the North Pole post office, the Candy Shop, Elves Lodge, Santa's toy shop and others.

Clow's Christmas Trail happens on December Dec 6th, 7th, 8th and 13th to 23rd from 6pm to 8:30pm. Purchase tickets from the official website.

When you're visiting Brockville, I recommend stopping by the local craft brewery, 1000 Islands Brewing Company. 'Tis the season for a holiday brew! In addition to their regular offerings, 1000 Islands Brewing Company has seasonal brews, like the orange chocolate, barrel aged stout, apple cider, apple pie ale, and others.

If you're looking for a hot beverage on a cold day, Richard's Coffeehouse is a cozy cafe in Brockville. They offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate and your favourite espresso beverages. There are seasonal flavour shots for lattes, like eggnog, gingerbread, pumpkin spice and toasted marshmallow. They also have plant-based milks: almond, cashew, coconut, oat and soy.
