RÌGH Residences Review: A Luxury Apartment Stay in Edinburgh

For the two of us, the Edwardian Suite was absolutely perfect.

Modern Features and Amenities

First, RÌGH Residences provides an incredibly modern stay with state of the art technology.

Using the Righ Properties app, you can use a mobile key, have express check in/out, connect directly with guest services via a live chat, access concierge services and provide specific housekeeping requests.

Within the room itself, the modern technology continues. There are two 50" flatscreen TVs with Chromecast and Sky TV (one in the bedroom and one in the living room).

There's a guest concierge tablet in the bedroom where you can access the concierge and housekeeping services.

The lights and blinds are controlled by panels on the walls of each room. Press a button to control the blinds and curtains, as well as the lighting.

Of course, there's also high speed Wi-Fi that's complimentary with your stay.

Kitchen and Living Room

The living space in the Edwardian Suite is very spacious, especially for just the two of us. There's a little couch / reading nook that comfortably seats two people in front of a coffee table and TV.

This was also one of my favourite places in the entire apartment, the windows that face out to the city streets below.

This apartment is right on the corner of George Street and Frederick Street, meaning that the windows overlook this bustling intersection.

It's a great spot to admire the surrounding buildings, architecture and monuments. I also loved people watching from here, too.

The kitchenette has everything you'd ever need to prepare your own meals or simply make breakfast in the morning.

There's an excellent coffee maker and the housekeeping staff always makes sure that the Nespresso coffee pods are topped up. There's also an ample supply of tea and a kettle.

I love the personalized touches, like two bottles of Irn-Bru in the fridge and the complimentary box of shortbread.

There's a small fridge and freezer, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, and pots/pans/cutlery/dishware, etc. We made breakfast here each morning paired with rich cups of coffee.

There is a little kitchen table that seats four comfortably. There are more windows here that allow quite a bit of light into the apartment with more scenic city views.

The Bedroom

The bedroom is decorated beautifully. I adore the lighting fixture above the super king-sized bed. The Georgian architecture of this building naturally has floor-to-ceiling windows with amazing views.

Of course, the blinds and curtains completely cover the windows, so we had a very restful night's sleep.

Beside the bed, there's a wireless phone charger. Place your phone on the bedside table and it will charge overnight, no cables required. There are also adjustable reading lights on each side of the bed.

The wardrobe allows plenty of room for your clothing and belongings. Easily slide your luggage beneath the bed to store them out of the way. We also found plush robes and slippers to use throughout our stay.

The Bathroom

The bathrooms at RÌGH Residences are quite luxurious. Our bathroom had the best shower with the ideal amount of water pressure. There's a heated floor and a demister mirror, which both added to our comfort and convenience.

The ESPA bath toiletries are a really nice touch. Not only did I really like the bath amenities, but the ESPA reed diffuser in the bathroom always kept it smelling amazing. I have no idea what the scent was, but it smelled straight out of the spa!

RÌGH Residences: Hotel Staff and Checking In

Checking into the hotel was a breeze. First, I love that staff members reached out over email in advance just in case we had any questions. It's a wonderful personalized touch that I haven't experienced anywhere in the past.

We had informed the staff members that we would be arriving on a very early morning flight from Toronto. I inquired about the possibility of checking in early.

While this was not a guarantee, the member of staff replied that they would be happy to allow for an early check-in, if possible.

We reached RÌGH Residences very early in the morning at 8:30am.

Even though this was well in advance of check-in time, we were pleased to receive an early check-in and accessed our room straight away. This allowed us to have a short nap and shower after our overnight flight.

If it isn't possible to check in early, the staff members can hold your luggage for you until your room is ready. Even though there is a member of staff on hand, it's very easy to check in through their computer system and our keys were printed for us on the spot.

When checking out, simply drop off your keys at the desk, even if there isn't a staff member on hand.

One other quick note because I get this question quite often - RÌGH Residences is a pet-friendly property and there are specific apartments that are pet-friendly.

Location of RÌGH Residences

Justin and I adored the location of RÌGH Residences. Located on George Street (at the corner of George Street and Frederick Street), it's right in the middle of New Town and only a quick jaunt to Old Town.

While Edinburgh is quite walkable, RÌGH Residences is conveniently in the center of it all.

Even from the airport, we took the tram to Princes Street. From there, it was less than a five minute walk with our luggage to the apartment.

After flying overnight and arriving on an early morning flight, we didn't have to worry about a long walk or taking any additional public transportation aside from the initial tram ride.

In addition, it's only a 10 minute walk to Waverley Train Station, a 12 minute walk to the St James Quarter Shopping Centre, and a 15 minute walk up to Edinburgh Castle.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future. We wouldn't hesitate to say that this was our favourite stay of all in Edinburgh so far, and we've visited on numerous occasions. Book your stay at RÌGH Residences.
