This Limerick Airbnb apartment will make you feel right at home.
If there’s something I learned while I was in Ireland, it’s that the people are so kind and friendly. As I travelled around the country, I realized that this was the case no matter what city or small town I visited. With that said, my hospitable Airbnb host, John, went above and beyond with warmly welcoming us to his hometown of Limerick.

My travel companion, Ashley and I easily found a parking space near our Limerick Airbnb short stay home, Castle Street at King Johns. As we approached the accommodation, we were greeted by John and his partner, Rebecca. After swapping travel tales and local accounts of Limerick over pints of beer at the neighbouring Katy Dalys pub, John showed us around the property where we’d be spending the night.
See that shop, Wild Ireland? It’s an outdoor adventure clothing shop, perfect for explorers of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Our Limerick Airbnb is beside and above this little shop that’s geared for adventurers and travellers.
Around the other side of the building, there’s an incredible mural painted across the entire building. As I’m a massive lover of street art, I knew that I’d managed to book the most wonderful accommodation imaginable.

LIMERICK AIRBNB: CASTLE STREET
With your stay at this Limerick Airbnb home, you get the full run of the entire house. There are two floors, a common room, kitchen, three bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a secret garden, and it sleeps up to 8 people.
When you first enter the home, you’ll discover the main living space with couches, a TV, and an indoor wood burning fireplace. There’s lots of firewood to keep the fire burning all evening long. I spent part of the evening feeling so cozy in front of this fireplace. It was such a completely relaxing space.
Want to cook a meal in your home away from home? This house has a full kitchen with a fridge, oven, kettle, toaster, utensils, pots and pans, and more. You name it, you’ll be able to prepare it here.
I love saving money when I travel by cooking my own meals. To top it off, John left some small snacks and treats in the fridge and out on the counter, which was a thoughtful added touch.
Let’s go upstairs and check out the bedrooms!
UPSTAIRS OF THE HOUSE
This home has three bedrooms, and every room has more than one bed. For Ashley and I, we enjoyed our own private space in our own bedrooms. However, this home accommodates up to 8 people, so it’s perfect if you’re travelling with family or in a larger group of friends.
Some of the rooms face out to the street. Even though this home is centrally located near pubs, I never found it to be too noisy. I had no issues at all sleeping at night.
The bathroom on the second floor has a shower, along with many toiletries in case you don’t bring any of your own. This home was fully stocked with everything you need for a stress-free stay.
THE SECRET GARDEN
John led us outside to an area that was a complete surprise to us – the secret garden. It’s an outdoor, covered lounge area that’s attached to the Wild Ireland store. Once the shop is closed for the day, guests of the Airbnb can have this area all to themselves. It’s a fantastic hangout spot, and one that I could spend ages in simply to read the written messages on the walls.
Locals and travellers alike are encouraged to share their own messages on the walls. It’s fascinating to read their stories, summed up in only a few words. This “secret garden” is made for travel lovers.
What’s your favourite message on the wall? I love the one that reads, “My partner slept with a penguin!” I’d love to know the story behind that one.
You’ll have to come here so you can add your own travel tale!
Not only are you right in town and able to walk around everywhere, but you’re right across the street from King John’s Castle. Our first stop after settling in at the Limerick Airbnb was to head straight across the road for a self guided castle tour.
Later, we walked for only 10-15 minutes before being at a main shopping street with tons of restaurants.
What more could you want from an amazing apartment? It’s a cozy home with an excellent location, a responsive and welcoming host, and even a special outdoor lounge geared perfectly for those with constant wanderlust.
One small thing to note: when I stayed here, there was no Wi-Fi connection as John was working on getting it installed. Please feel free to inquire about Internet access. I was using my KnowRoaming card, so I had no problems staying connected despite the lack of Wi-Fi.
Whether you’re traveling with friends, as a couple, or as a larger family, this Airbnb accommodation is where you should stay in Limerick, Ireland.
