Auberge et Spa Beaux Reves is a peaceful sanctuary in the Laurentians mountain range. Located in the village of Sainte-Adele, this rejuvenating getaway isn’t far from Montreal. It’s the perfect addition to any trip to the Laurentians region (also known as Laurentides in French).
We stayed at Auberge Beaux Rêves et Spa on a road trip from the Toronto area as an addition to our Montreal trip. I suggest spending a few days in Montreal and adding an overnight stay here if you’re looking for a tranquil wellness holiday. It’s only one hour from Montreal.

We took this trip quite a few years ago now (we look so young!). This blog post is updated from our original one I wrote in 2013. The rooms at the inn look to be renovated since we stayed here last, though our overall experiences would align with a current one.
Auberge et Spa Beaux Rêves: The Inn

Auberge Beaux Reves is a cozy inn that feels more like a home than a hotel. The accommodation is a huge, rustic cabin with exposed wooden beams and wooden staircases.
There are 11 rooms in total at the inn. Nine of these rooms have fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs and river views. There’s also a 6-person cottage that’s dog-friendly, a lodge suitable for a couple, and a larger house that sleeps up to 10 people.
The owner is originally from Estonia and strives to bring an authentic Scandinavian experience to Quebec and Canada. The concept of Auberge et Spa Nordique Beaux Rêves combines a Nordic spa circuit with a wonderful place to stay.
At the communal area, relax by the fireplace, play board games, or gather for a drink with friends. We treated ourselves to a couple of local beers here. Connected to the living room was the kitchen with several tables, and large windows with views of the outdoor spa.

When we stayed here, there was a small complimentary breakfast. For us, we just had some toast with peanut butter and jam as that was the only vegan offering.
I hear that they now provide a small breakfast box at the door in the morning, which I haven’t read is anything all that great or special. I suggest getting breakfast or an early lunch in town instead.
Our Room

Our room at the Auberge Beaux Reves et Spa reminded us of a traditional bed and breakfast. The room was tastefully decorated with pictures, bits of lace, and flowers. The bathroom looked newly renovated with a walk-in shower.
Newer photos suggest that the rooms have had a bit of an overhaul with new furnishings and decor. I’m glad that they’ve upgraded the interior design a bit from its rustic and old fashioned appearance.

Our favourite part of the room was the private balcony. It overlooks the entire backyard and the Nordic spa itself. It’s surrounded by a forest and a river off in the distance.
If it weren’t for the flowing water from the hot tub, we probably could have heard the rushing waters of the river. Regardless, the sounds were quite soothing and peaceful. We kept the patio doors open at night so we could listen to the water as we fell asleep.
Auberge et Spa Beaux Rêves: The Spa Experience

Once we checked into the hotel, Justin and I were booked for hour long Swedish couples massages. This was the very first time that either of us had ever had a massage! Going to spas and getting massages is something that we regularly do when travelling now, and this was where it all began.
We were led by our two female masseuses outside to a separate cabin, set up with two massage tables. The massage oils had such a calming fragrance, and we felt truly pampered from head to toe.
Since our stay, the spa experience has truly expanded. Nowadays, there’s a Siberian sauna, salt cave, infrared sauna, foot detoxification and more. They also offer yoga classes and yoga retreats here.
The following morning, we soaked in the outdoor Nordic spa pool. It had recently rained a bit, but we didn’t let that put a damper on our plans.

We were grateful to mostly have the entire pool to ourselves. Their Nordic spa is one gigantic hot tub. The temperature of the water was perfect.
The atmosphere is so relaxing because you’re in the middle of nature. There are big rocks all around the spa and tall trees all around. There are view of the whitewater river from the hot tub as well. Justin and I waded in the water and sat by some of the hot tub jets for a nice little massage.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Auberge Beaux Reves in the Laurentians. The Nordic Spa and massages were definitely the highlights here. This is a romantic couples getaway and it would also make for a great girls getaway, too.
If you’d like to be pampered and immersed in nature, this is the place for you. Book your stay here.
