Why Royal Athenaeum Suites is an Amazing Aberdeen Accommodation

Taking a city break to Aberdeen and not sure where to rest your head at night? The two of us spent two nights at the Royal Athenaeum Suites and adored this Aberdeen accommodation. There are many excellent reasons to make this hotel your base in Aberdeen. I’m going to tell you all the reasons why we loved it there and recommend that you stay there, too.

It Feels Like Home

We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and took the elevator up to our room. When we entered this Aberdeen accommodation, it felt more like a modern apartment than a hotel room. There is a separate bedroom and living room that also includes a kitchenette. Each room has its own TV, just in case you and your partner have different tastes in programs. Royal Athenaeum Suites had everything that we needed for our holiday and beyond. 

The living room features a sofa, a table with chairs, and a flatscreen TV. There are glass bottles of sparkling and still water on the table for you to enjoy during your stay These serviced Aberdeen apartments also have kitchenettes so you can do some cooking instead of ordering out. The kitchen includes a microwave, stove top, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, pots and pans, and cutlery. There’s even a washing machine just in case you need to do some laundry.

The bathroom is modern and luxurious. It has a massive bathtub, as well as the option to have a shower. There’s even underfloor heating in the bathroom, which is a lovely added touch.

There’s a king-sized bed in the bedroom, as well as a second TV set on the wall. We felt very relaxed and cozy every night after our days filled with adventures.

This Aberdeen accommodation definitely has the feel of an apartment, which is refreshing as an alternative to a stuffy hotel room. It’s warmly decorated with stylish and classic furnishings. There are some really impressive looking buildings from the windows of the suites, featuring stately architecture. 

The Location Can’t Be Beat

Royal Athenaeum Suites is located right in the city centre. You’re within walking distance of anywhere you’d like to go in Aberdeen. We walked all over the city without needing to take any other forms of transit. You’re close to many restaurants, bars, and cafes. You can also walk to the beach in Aberdeen, as well as one of our favorite areas in the city, Footdee. You’re within walking distance of many museums, gardens, and other Aberdeen attractions. It’s certainly one of the best hotels in Aberdeen city centre.

Modern Amenities

There are so many amenities included in your stay at Royal Athenaeum Suites. There’s complimentary Wi-Fi so you can stay connected to your loved ones at home. There’s air conditioning and heating, including underfloor heating in the bathroom. You’ll find someone at the reception desk 24 hours a day if you need some assistance. Furthermore, while there’s a washing machine in your room, you can also request dry cleaning and laundry service through the hotel. 

As for parking, it’s through the Aberdeen Douglas Hotel at a small fee of £5 per night. Request the code for the parking lot ahead of time. It’s a little tricky to explain, but the parking lot is located on Shiprow (a street behind the main road that the Royal Athenaeum Suites is located on). If you search for “Douglas Hotel Car Park” on Google maps within the vicinity of the hotel, you’ll find it! Please note that the car park does have a limited number of spaces. If it’s full, I recommend paying at the underground car park that’s also located on Shiprow.
