A Stirling accommodation that makes you feel right at home…only better!
I always heard so much about Stirling, Scotland as I was growing up. My family is from Stirling, dating back over 200 years. For many years, my grandparents split their time between Stirling and their home in Canada. It became too much for them to travel back and forth as they got older, so they sold their home in Stirling to live permanently in Canada. You can imagine my excitement that I was finally visiting the town that I’d learned so much about throughout my life. It only seemed fitting that Justin and I stay at an apartment rather than a hotel, although I recommend this Stirling accommodation for everyone who visits.
Stirling Luxury Apartments consists of two beautiful apartments in a building on the River Forth in Stirling, Scotland. These apartments are inside a low-rise building where primarily locals live and go about their daily activities. We stayed in Apartment One during our two night trip. The owners, Isobel and Fraser, warmly welcomed us to our new home for the next couple of nights.
Stirling Accommodation: Stirling Luxury Apartments
The apartments are self catering Stirling holiday homes. You’ll have full use of this luxurious apartment all to yourself, cooking your own meals if you wish. At the end of the stay, simply drop your key off in the drop box and continue on your trip. There are two bedrooms, so you could stay here with your family of four or two sets of couples.
The Living Room
Apartment One at Stirling Luxury Apartments is tastefully decorated and styled. The decor looks very fresh, clean, and new. There’s a seating area with couches and chairs that easily fits four people, as well as a kitchen table for four. You’ll find a flat screen TV with many channels if you choose to unwind and watch a couple of shows at the end of the day. There are some books and magazines in the living room if you’re seeking any reading material. Essentially, it’s the perfect place to relax between sightseeing and activities.
Throughout the apartment, the walls feature framed photographs of animals, like rabbits or the “hairy coos” of Scotland. There are also adorable decorative animal heads on various walls throughout the apartment.
In the living room, there are huge windows that allow a lot of light to flood into the room. You can admire beautiful views of the River Forth, as well as Stirling Castle off in the distance. Isobel told us that from time to time, you can spot seals floating down the river. While we didn’t see any seals, you might be lucky enough to spot one right from your living room.
When searching for the perfect places to stay in Stirling, you might want a kitchen to cook food for yourself. We like preparing our own meals while traveling for longer periods of time. It helps us save some money, but we also start craving a home cooked meal. A meal that you cook for yourself can really makes you feel right at home, so it was only fitting that we made full use of the kitchen.
This kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’d need to prepare delicious meals. There’s cutlery, plates, pots, pans, and more. This apartment comes stocked with coffee and tea, as well as a fancy espresso machine. I love hotels and apartments that come with excellent coffee makers, and this one was top of the line. There’s also a microwave, fridge, stove, toaster, and a kettle. You’ll also find a washing machine in this apartment, which is super convenient in case you need to do some laundry.
Isobel and Fraser were kind enough to leave some ingredients for breakfast, as well as a few treats. Knowing that we’re vegan, they even went the extra mile to shop for vegan groceries for us! They’re such kind and generous hosts.
There are two bedrooms at Apartment One of Stirling Luxury Apartments. We only needed to use one of them, so we used the larger of the two throughout our stay. Both bedrooms have a modern elegance, with plenty of closet space for your belongings. You can unpack and feel right at home here. There are also bathrobes and slippers, so you can feel even more posh at your luxury Stirling accommodation.
And here are some images of the second bedroom:
Continuing with the modern vibes, the bathroom is very clean and spacious. Like most places we stayed at in Scotland, you flip a switch just outside of the bathroom to heat the water for your shower. The shower had fantastic water pressure. There was a large glass shelving unit to store all of your belongings. There are also some small bottles of toiletries in case you didn’t bring your own. I love that there’s a heated towel rack because that’s something I wish I had at home!
Stirling Luxury Apartments has everything you’d need for a comfortable and cozy stay. There’s complimentary, high speed Wi-Fi so you can stay connected or get some work done. There are three TVs in the apartment – one in the living room, and one in each bedroom (with tons of premium channels). There are many parking spots right out front for your vehicle. Essentially, I can’t think of anything that this apartment was missing.
Location in Stirling
If you’re looking for where to stay in Stirling, Scotland, location might be a factor. While this Stirling apartment was not right in the middle of town, you could easily walk everywhere in a short amount of time. To walk from Stirling Luxury Apartments into town, it takes about 15 minutes. If you want to walk all the way to Stirling Castle, it takes about a half hour. As it was raining during our stay, we drove to a small parking lot near the old town center, which was a five minute drive away.
However, we discovered an interesting spot that you might not visit if you stayed at other hotels in Stirling, Scotland. Stirling Luxury Apartments is a short walk away from the village of Cambuskenneth and Cambuskenneth Abbey. I highly recommend taking a little stroll over there to check out the ruins of this beautiful abbey.
While Stirling is only a short drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh, you can easily make it your base for exploring the surrounding regions, too. Base yourself in Stirling and visit the town of Falkirk for the Kelpies. You can also drive to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs from Stirling for the day.
