Using the Fujifilm Instax printer to preserve your travel memories.
So, you’ve gone on an amazing trip and taken a ton of photos. Maybe you’ve uploaded some of them to your Instagram or Facebook pages. Otherwise, you might not look at these photos again for a really long time. You might even forget that they’re there. They’re somewhere on your Smartphone or hard drive, not to be looked at again for years.
When Justin and I travelled to Iceland, we embarked on an incredible trip with memories that will last the rest of our lives. We rented a car and drove all over the country for two weeks, witnessing vast landscapes that looked like another planet at times.

At the Keflavík airport, I purchased a giant map of Iceland with the intention of someday displaying our journey on it. That map has sat, rolled up, in our room for almost two years now. That is, until I discovered the Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3 Smartphone Printer.
PRINTING YOUR PHOTOS IS EASY
The Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3 Smartphone Printer makes it easy to print photos from your smartphone, and I became quickly obsessed with printing them out. Using their intuitive, user-friendly app, you can quickly print pictures directly from your smartphone in seconds.
Load the printer with the Instax Square instant film. You get 10 sheets to a pack, and the printer lights up to show you how many sheets you have left. The Instax Share app also lets you know how many sheets remain in the printer.
The Fujifilm Instax printer is lightweight and portable enough to take with you on the go. It comes with a rechargeable battery, which charges via a USB cable plugged into any USB outlet. It’s easy to take with you on your travels as it doesn’t take up much space. You can share photos with friends you meet on the road.
The smartphone printer has a sleek and clean design. With only a couple of buttons, it’s really easy to figure out how to use it straight from the box.
USING THE INSTAX SHARE APP
First things first: download the Instax Share app from your phone’s app store. The Instax Share app is very simple to use and has a number of great features. You can print photos directly from your phone or social media websites. Ever wanted to print out your Instagram photos? You can print them directly onto the Fujifilm square photo sheets.
I had a bunch of photos on my camera from Iceland that I wanted to print for my travel photo project. Through the app, I selected one that I wanted to print:
Next, I previewed my photo of choice and had the option of hitting the “print” button at the bottom. Once I hit that button (and ensured that my smartphone was connected to the printer through its built in Wi-Fi connection), the photo seamlessly printed within moments.
Let’s say that I want to edit my photo. Perhaps the subject of the shot is off to one far side of the picture, and I need to re-centre it. Or maybe I want to add a filter to the photo or make some minor adjustments to the brightness, contrast, or saturation. Everything can be done right inside the Instax Share app without having to use any outside editing software.
THE MOMENT OF TRUTH
Select your photograph, make any necessary edits, and tap “print”. Within seconds, a photograph glides effortlessly from the Fujifilm Instax printer. It initially shows up completely white, but the picture will slowly materialize.
The photos look fabulous with great detail and colour. It’s awesome to finally have a physical copy of pictures that were lost in the depths of my smartphone gallery.
I start printing off photo after photo, and I’m printing them at a record speed. It only takes a few minutes and I have a handful of travel memories from our glorious trip to Iceland.
May I also add that our cat, Chickpea, was possibly even more obsessed with this printer than I was? He couldn’t take his eyes off it. Every time I printed a photo, he was right there, sniffing around as the picture came out. He was fascinated and enraptured by this printer.
MY TRAVEL PROJECT
Now that I had amassed nearly 20 Fujifilm Instax photographs, it was time to work on my crafty project. I was excited to be able to proudly display our travel memories right on the wall. Any time of the day, we are reminded of our wonderful time in that mountainous, lush, wild paradise.
I traced our driving route directly onto the map in black permanent ink. Then, I positioned all of the pictures into place, approximately near its location. Once I stuck the pictures onto the map, I was done!
Our trip memories really came to life once I printed them out and displayed them in such a visually appealing way.
Before Justin got home from work, I found a place on our wall to hang the map. When he arrived, he immediately noticed our amazing memories on the map and looked at every picture. He kept exclaiming things like, “Oh, I forgot we went there!” or “This was so much fun, I totally forgot about that!”. The project was worthwhile for his reactions alone.
The Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3 Smartphone Printer truly brings your travel memories back to life. It’s so much fun to print them out and re-live your favourite travel moments.
It’s a great idea to share pictures with your friends by printing a permanent copy for their fridge or scrapbook. Use the handy “reprint” button on the printer to print multiple copies of the same picture so everyone can have their own photograph.
The possibilities are endless. You’ll save your pictures from being lost and forgotten.
