Back on the road again!
Hey everyone! I wanted to post a little update before I leave for a couple of weeks of traveling.
TBEX North America – Fort Lauderdale, Florida
I’m very excited to be headed to my first TBEX event! For those of you who aren’t familiar, TBEX (Travel Blog Exchange) is the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, new media content creators, and travel industry professionals. It’s an amazing place to network and connect with those in the travel industry and fellow travel bloggers. There are sessions where I’m sure I’m going to learn a lot, and speed networking events providing one-on-one time with representatives.
This year’s TBEX in North America is in Fort Lauderdale! I’ve been to Fort Lauderdale, Florida a number of times, generally before embarking on a cruise. I’ll be in Fort Lauderdale from October 27th – November 1st. My plans will mostly involve TBEX-related events, including a Travel Massive get together on the 27th. I’m also renting a car on the 27th, hoping to drive down to Miami to check out a few places. Everything is rather tentative at this moment, but I’ll write all about it when I return!
After TBEX, I’m hopping on a plane and headed down to Jamaica! Jamaica will be a new country for me, bringing my total country count up to 18.
I’m meeting my best friend, Shannon and her mom at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril, Jamaica. I’ve never done a resort vacation before, so this whole relaxing-thing-while-traveling will be new to me. Shannon is an absolute pro at it, so I hope to learn lots from her (you might remember Shannon from a couple of past blog posts, particularly from our Put-in-Bay trip in 2013 or my Bruce Trail hikes). I really need to soak up the sunshine and relax by the beach…life has been a little hectic lately, so I’m looking forward to unwinding in a tropical destination. However, I’ll be posting many photos to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter in true travel blogger fashion! While we don’t have too many things planned at the moment, I’m hoping to take a couple of day trips in the area. This is the first holiday that I haven’t really planned! I’m just going to show up and see where the wind takes me. 🙂
